Xi'an Famous Foods

People have become so accustomed to the greasy Chinese food from their local take out restaurant that nobody takes the time to experience the different kinds of Chinese food out there. What people fail to recognize is that different regions of China come with different flavors and different foods. There is Cantonese, Hunan/Xi'an,  and Sichuan, to name a few. I've been to Flushing, so I am familiar with the fact that this Middle Eastern / Chinese fusion is to die for! Having heard about Xi'an Famous Foods before, I couldn't help but stop in for a bite when walking down St.Marks. The food was so good I went again the same week and converted a non-Chinese food lover into one. The fresh hand-pulled noodles mixed with the spicy broth is a combination that is almost too good to be true. We also had their pork and lamb burgers, which are perfect for fulfilling a Xi'an craving when on the run. The bun, almost like an arepa, is crispy but soft. Since I do have an addiction to arepas, this burger was a love at first bite sort of thing.
Everything at Xi'an comes with a rich & intense flavor. There is definitely no lack of seasoning here and the extra spicy kick that this cuisine is known puts these dishes over the edge. I think I just might have to stop in here  one more time for a sampling of their hand-pulled noodle soups, perfect for the chilly weather. At an average of $6 bucks per dish, this place is an overall must!
