Speachless

I'm having trouble trying to remember the last time i felt this way about something. My friend Sami ordered this Noosa Yoghurt at Dish here in Boulder, CO (yes the same Sami that made me try the seaweed chips!). So again she insisted on me tasting this. Before I could even swallow, the sweet velvety yoghurt did something to me, something words can't explain - I think it was the coming together of two soul mates. Noosa Yoghurt is made here in Colorado, but they consider themselves to have "Aussie Culture," whatever the fuck that means. Honestly, it doesn't really matter. All I know is if they don't start distributing outside of Colorado, I don't know what I am going to do. I thought it was hard not having Trader Joes out here, but going home to Dirty Jerz and not having Noosa? That can't happen! Noosa is most definitely the creme de la creme of yoghurt!

Sesame & Seaweed

Current Snack of Choice: Lundberg's Sesame & Seaweed Rice Chips. Like HELLLOOO?? why hasn't anyone thought of this chip combo before? My friend Sami came home with these chips and insisted on me tasting one. Turned off by the chunks of brown rice and specks of seaweed, I hesitated. Damn I wish I could get those 5 seconds back in my life - such a waste! Those chips are amazing. No, like let me tell you, they are amazing. Salty, sweet, gingery, crunchy chips of goodness and I eat them with everything from baba ghannouj to tabouli. Watch out Cape Cod, there's a new chip in town.

Love @ First Sight

If you were to know me, you would know that peking duck is my middle name. It's official, I have replaced Rose with Peking Duck. I'm not entirely sure why I love it so much. Maybe because of the crisp duck skin or the scallion or even the hoisin sauce. Ya know what? It's the combination of the whole thing. It's like a little Asian duck burrito that I cannot get enough of. Something else I cannot get enough of is how recently Serious Eats has been stalking me! I know, I know...not another Serious Eats post, but they have been indirectly dedicating their blog posts to me! It just unreal that for the past couple of days I found myself licking my computer screen trying to get a taste of the food on their site. Well, let me introduce you to the sandwich they have posted today...
Roast Duck Sandwich @ Rheon Cafe
Quoting the genious' themselves, " It tastes exactly like what a Peking duck would taste like if it died in the arms of a ciabatta." WOW, now that is some serious shit!

Serious Eats On A Roll!

What an amazing day it is. Serious Eats just keeps posting dem goodies!! If you ask me, "Hey Kate...just wondering, can you tell me one of your top five favorite desserts?" HANDS DOWN I would tell you, "Uhm yes!! One of them is Lupa's (Mario Batali's restaurant) Tartufo." The thing is down right orgasmic. In the simple, yet tantalizing words of Serious Eats, it is a, "large chocolate-covered orb of hazelnut gelato with crushed biscotti cookies and a single cherry at the center. This gelato is quite something—purely hazelnut in flavor, more nutty than sweet, with a dense and smooth body. Crushed hazelnuts adorn the exterior for extra crunch with an incredible warm, fudgy dark chocolate sauce pooled around the tartufo." Serious Eats says it's generous enough to share with another, but a little word of advice... DON'T!

SeriousEats

Majority of my day consists of going to class in order to sit there, pretend im listening, but actually surf the web reading food blogs. It's a seriously problem and should probably seek out some adderall, but it's just too addicting. I thought I would share one of my favorite things about my favorite food blog, Serious Eats. They feature an Apps Only post (that i just lourrvee) and a Sandwich of a Day (that always has my mouth watering). Today on Apps Only, they talk about Joseph Leonard. I've personally never have eaten here, but after seeing these pics I might have to stop in. Some of my favess....
