Every Thing On It

Thank you Shel Silverstein for two of my favorite childhood books. Where the Sidewalk Ends and A Light in the Attic were genius. Now you return to my life with your new book Every Thing On It and I believe you have written one of the most beautiful poems I've ever read. Keep up the good work Shel!

Italian Food

Oh, how I love Italian food.
I eat it all the time,
Not just 'cause how good it tastes

But 'cause how good it rhymes.
Minestrone, cannelloni,
Macaroni, rigatoni,
Spaghettini, scallopini,
Escarole, braciole,
Insalata, cremolata, manicotti,
Marinara, carbonara,
Shrimp francese, Bolognese,
Ravioli, mostaccioli,
Mozzarella, tagliatelle,
Fried zucchini, rollatini,
Fettuccine, green linguine,
Tortellini, Tetrazzini,
Oops—I think I split my jeani.
